Cyrus Neshvad: THE RED SUITCASE, Iranian women and girls, and forced child marriage

Movikarma Season 3 Episode 30

Jared Milrad chats with Oscar-nominated director Cyrus Neshvad about his Oscar-nominated short film, THE RED SUITCASE, which tells the heartbreaking story of a 16-year-old Iranian girl who must decide whether to accept being forced into marrying a middle-aged man she has never met in a foreign country - or try to escape and seek freedom. Cyrus opens up about his own Iranian heritage and why he wanted to tell this harrowing story, the plight of Iranian girls who are victims of forced marriage and human trafficking, and the ongoing human rights violations against girls, women, filmmakers, and activists in Iran.
